Active vacation in Listvyanka

The tour program:

Today is the first day of the tour, and you are welcome to start it with exploring lake Baikal in Listvyanka settlement. This is perhaps one of the oldest Russian settlements on the shore of the great lake. Lately it has turned into a tourist centre with the number of sights, cafes, hotels and tourists exceeding the number of residents.

On the way to Listvyanka it is worthwhile visiting Taltsy open-air ethnographic museum (for extra charge). Here one can feel the unique charm of the authentic wooden architecture and everyday life of the Pribaikalye peoples, and take part in some traditional winter entertainments: get a thrill sliding down a real Russian ice-hill, have a ride on a sled or Troyka or try to walk on stilts.

In Listvyanka we invite you for a sightseeing tour, during which you will visit an observation platform next to the famous Shaman-Rock, hear a beautiful legend and visit the acting Russian Orthodox church of St.Nicholas-the-Miracle-Worker – the patron of all travelers and sailors. You may also have an excursion to Baikal Ecological museum (for extra charge) with an exposition telling about the flora and fauna of Baikal, including aquariums with the lake’s live inhabitants.

Besides, you may visit the spectacular open-air market, where the locals sell souvenirs alongside with home-made specialities of Baikal fish.
Today we offer you some outdoor activities – snow safari through the Siberian taiga. Having received the necessary instructions and special warm clothing, under the leadership of out professional guides you will set off for a snowmobile trip to Krestovaya valley.Your route will run along the Krestovaya river. You are sure to enjoy the fairytale atmosphere of the winter forest, light and pleasant frost, a little bit of adrenaline. You will return to Listvyanka also by snowmobiles. To make this day perfect, try the local banya (for extra charge) with hot steam and fragrant birch bunches!
It is so nice to spend a winter day making something useful and beautiful! Moreover, near Baikal the atmosphere is absolutely favourable for creativity, and sources of inspiration can be found almost everywhere. We invite you to a hospitable family’s homestead, where you will learn some basics of the traditional blacksmith’s crafts. You will not only enjoy the process itself, but also get the unique souvenirs, which you will make yourself!
Then you will get acquainted with charming sledge dogs – Siberian Huskies. Blue- and brown-eyed, of all possible colours and characters, they all are fond of running and love people. Every dog strives to be in a sledge team, and look really offended if now it is not its turn. Driving a sledge is easy – you will see it yourself during your 10-minutes trip guided by an experienced instructor.
Then there will be bigger animals, which also have always been a man’s best friends – obedient and beautiful horses. You will have a ride either horseback or in a sledge – depending on the weather and your preferences.
Today is a free day in Listvyanka, use this free day to catch up before leaving for Irkutsk. For example, you can visit the Baikal Seal Aquarium (for extra charge), where the world’s only freshwater seal demonstrates its talents, see a small private art gallery or museum of minerals (for extra charge). For nature lovers we can offer a wonderful photo-safari by jeeps. During the trip you will meet with a musk deer, wild boar, roe deer, yak and other Siberian animals (for extra charge).
Today we offer you a sightseeing tour of Irkutsk. You will see the historical centre, the Angara’s embankment and monuments of architecture, history and culture. Excursion to the Znamensky Russian Orthodox convent noted for its splendid iconostasis and graves of the Decembrists on the territory. Upon request – visit to the central market and souvenir store.
The final day of the programme. After breakfast – transfer to the airport or train station.

Tour price includes:
- accommodation at hotels (twin occupancy): 4 nights in Listvyanka (room with private bathroom), 1 night in Irkutsk (room with private bathroom);
- meals as per program;
- transfers as per program;
- excursions as per program;
- rent of a snowmobile for a 2 hours (1 snowmobile for 2 persons), including rent of necessary outfit and guide’s services;
- dog-sledging (10 min): 1 sledge for 1 person, including guide’s services;
- horse-riding (1 hour) – horseback or in a sledge (depending on the weather and the desire of the whole group);
- master-classes on blacksmith’s craft.
